We like to classify everything… including emotional attachment on encounters in life.
We can have pleasant emotion - some call it pleasures, which sometimes make us happy. Hopefully, we have this all this time and have it as and when we want or have it as much as possible. The truth is that this is probably only 10% of the incidents that we encounter daily.
We do have unpleasant moment too… where we get upset and emotionally distress because of such happenings, and hope this will never happen. The frequency is said to be about the same as pleasant encounters .. Which is about 10%.
What about the rest? Many of us would classify them as some pleasant and unpleasant together.. Which means such encounter could make us happy and with somewhat not so happy as it not a perfect encounter. This is normally called the grey area, they most of us attach some form of emotions to.
We all know that the world is not just black and white… perhaps 10% each on the two extreme sides of the balance. And the rest, some would classify them as grey… which has a bit of black and a bit of white, and the intensity change range from dark grey to light dirt colour.
Is this really true???????
I learnt last week from a wondeful teacher that there is one true classification , which is called neither pleasant nor unpleasant. This can be found in pleasant encounters, unpleasant encounters and somewhat pleasant or unpleasant encounters.
Let me explain. There is Emptiness in every encounter, since we are the one who put mental attachment to an encounter. Take a step back and think about it. Pleasant encounter can turn unpleasant and vice versa.
If we remove our emotional attachment, everything would be neither pleasant nor unpleasant.
I am still working on it.

Hi Robin,
