God and emptiness

The worst moment for any atheist is when he feels grateful for something and has no-one to thank!

I heard of this before and so disagree with it. Why should one focus his gratitude to an object or subject?

The concept of god always existing is hard enough to try to understand.

And so is the emptiness which had to be there along with god.

If there was a beginning it would have had to be emptiness first then god. Not the other way around, the reason being is that for god to exist he would have needed a place to exist in. \to me it is alot easier to see thare was always emptiness but to see that there always was a god is much harder to see. Could it be some how the emptiness crreated god?

Some says, God came first, since he always existed, but what your question is attempting to do is apply YOUR logic to God...

This ain't gonna work...God is way beyond human logic and/or understanding.

The Bible STARTS OUT with the words "In the beginning, God created..." This tells us there WAS a beginning, and God was there BEFORE the beginning, or he couldn't have created.

Some people like to have little gods on their fireplace mantel or in a garden in their backyard,

God is bigger than yours or my imagination, the Bible says: Act 7:49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?

To me, the status or virtues of god must be achievable by all man when we do good and thus bring us closer to god or be like him.

"The best religion is the one that gets you closest to God.

It is the one that makes you a better person."~ Dalai Lama

  1. I love your blog! ^_^

This post has set my mind thinking again as to the meaning of God in the Buddhist context as opposed to other religions. It is true that the creation of the universe and the sentient beings that dwell in it is beyond human logic. That is why the dharma has not attempted to dwell on the topic nor try to inject logic into it.

Thanks for provoking my thoughts tonight.
