No one is above the law of karmic cause and effect....NO ONE!
When one is afflicted by greed, anger and ignorance, unwholesome actions arise.
When one is freed from greed, anger and ignorance, unwholesome actions cease.
Thus, follow the teaching of the four noble truths and eightfold noble paths to free yourself from greed, anger and ignorance, and all unwholesome actions will cease.
Such is the state of nirvana (enlightenment) that has been realized by Buddha and his saint disciples.
What exactly is karma? To me, it is merely your decision or choice and the cosequences of this choice we made. Nothing fancy, nothing mystical or religious.
If you make a right choice, naturally you will great good returns otherwise you will suffer the consequences of a bad decision.
It's that simple.
