Wisdom and Compassion

修福不修慧。象身挂璎珞。

修慧不修福。罗汉应供薄。

In the Buddha's phrase above, If you practice compassion without wisdom, you will be re-incarnated as an elephant full of jewels. And if you practice wisdom without compassion, you will be re-incarnated as a monk who has no public support.

It takes both wisdom and compassion to achieve enlightenment. Action is important too. The daily practice is putting all that we have learnt from Buddhism into our life through right efforts and right intentions, to create positive result for public good.

Good intention is not good enough.

Right intention must be followed by right speech, right action and right understanding.
